Seeking Recyclable Closure for Paper Beverage Bottles |
| |
We are seeking technologies for a re-closable fiber-based closure for a paper beverage bottle that can be recycled in the paper stream. |
Seeking existing market solutions targeted towards crawling insects |
| |
The issue of crawling insects in homes has been an ongoing issue. The popular types of crawling insects causing problems have been ants and cockroaches. The search will focus on existing market solutions targeted towards crawling insects such as ants and cockroaches (other types of crawling insects are in scope i.e., bed bugs). |
Seeking safe and effective outdoor mosquito solutions |
| |
Seeking safe and effective outdoor mosquito solutions to help consumers enjoy their yard and outdoor spaces without the annoyance and inconvenience of mosquito bites. Mosquitos are a common nuisance and disease spreading insect. In addition to being vectors of disease, one of the main reasons we want to tackle this pest is to allow people to enjoy outdoor activities more frequently – e.g., eating outside, spending time with family, and watching outdoor sporting events. Here in P&G Ventures, we are looking for existing, in market solutions which exist globally that are specifically designed to kill or repel mosquitos. |
Paper-based temperature sensor with high sensitivity |
| |
The CSIC has developed a thermo-resistive sensor comprising a semiconductor material onto a paper substrate. The use of this type of materials together with deposition technique of semiconductor element allow to design a thermo-resistive sensor with high sensitivity to abrupt temperature changes being up to an order of magnitude more sensitive than analogous sensors based on graphite. The use of paper as substrate makes this sensor cheap, easy to produce and biodegradable. The incorporation of this device in fabrics allows to monitor body temperature. Likewise, when integrated in packaging, it allows to record thermal history of goods. Industrial partners from the electronic components and sensors sectors or companies from textile and paper industry are being sought to collaborate through a patent license agreement. |
Ecological concretes and mortars |
| |
A multidisciplinary public-private research consortium has developed a simple and innovative process to transform submerged arc welding slag waste into activated materials (geopolymers) that can be used as environmentally friendly substitutes for Portland cement to manufacture concrete or mortar-based construction materials. These new materials are characterised by low production costs, are environmentally friendly, sustainable, do not generate waste in their production process, and have excellent physico-chemical properties. Companies interested in acquiring this technology for its commercial exploitation are sought. |
Non-invasive method to objectively determine the dynamics of the tear film and diagnose dry-eye disease (DED) |
| |
A new system for the assessment of the tear film quality and the diagnosis of dry-eye has been developed. Based on a non-invasive recording of images of the light reflected on the tear-film of the eye, posterior image processing allows the objective assessment of dry-eye. It’s a simple and cost-effective system easy to use in clinics. |
